Which is Healthier Coffee Or Orange Juice?
When it comes to healthy beverage options, the options can seem virtually limitless. A quick glance down any grocery store beverage aisle reveals an array of similar cartons and jugs which makes selecting one difficult. While coffee provides antioxidants and energy benefits while orange juice provides essential vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals – but which is truly healthier may come as a surprise!
Even though both beverages contain health benefits, it is important to remember that they also contain many calories. Selecting an appropriate beverage can help maintain a healthy weight while decreasing risks such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
To determine which orange juice and coffee were more healthy, we studied their nutrition facts. This involved comparing their caloric counts, sugar contents, fat levels, sodium amounts, caffeine amounts and fiber contents of each drink – with Uncle Matt’s Organic Orange Juice emerging as our top choice due to using whole fruits instead of low-acid oranges blended together and flash pasteurization technology which preserves flavor while protecting it against bacteria.
We discovered that this beverage was created using carefully chosen oranges sourced from reliable Vietnamese farms and packed in PET bottles suitable for hot filling sterilization, which helps retain flavor and nutrients. Furthermore, its tantalizing citrus scent was indicative of high-grade ingredients used to craft it.
Orange juice offers another advantage; its contents contain the flavonoid hesperidin, which has been shown to decrease blood pressure and cholesterol levels while helping the body deal with stress, inflammation and oxidative damage. Oranges provide additional vitamin C which further decreases oxidative stress in your system and decreases inflammation levels in your body.
Studies conducted recently revealed that drinking one glass of orange juice daily for two months significantly lowered diastolic blood pressure among adults, as well as increasing activity of genes associated with decreasing diastolic blood pressure, cholesterol levels and inflammation within their bodies.
Orange juice contains potassium, an essential mineral for controlling blood pressure. Furthermore, its dietary fibre also feeds beneficial gut bacteria which have been linked with lower risks of digestive diseases and obesity. In contrast to this, drinking processed juices or drinks with added sugars may negatively impact our mood and increase appetite leading to greater intakes of unhealthy food items – thus it is recommended to opt for whole fruits over processed juices when possible.
