Nespresso Organic Coffee Capsules
As the world’s premier coffee brand, Nespresso is committed to sustainable practices across its operations. As a Certified B-Corp they prioritize circularity, community involvement and combating climate change; working closely with farmers to reduce carbon emissions and promote regenerative agriculture while participating in Fairtrade Foundation and various environmental organizations for ocean and soil cleanup initiatives.
Nespresso offers several recycling programs, such as their Capsule Collection initiative which allows customers to recycle used capsules. These programs are offered in 36 countries and partner with numerous refillable capsule manufacturers so users can continue enjoying all of the flavors and aromas their Nespresso machine has to offer.
Nespresso capsules are all produced using organic beans, and vegetarian-friendly. Their original and Vertuoline machines, produced in Europe, feature hermetically sealed capsules to maintain freshness and flavor longer than loose ground coffee would. While Nespresso held onto this patent system for over 15 years, its use became more expensive than competing bean-to-cup machines like Krups or DeLonghi models with loose grounds; now Nespresso licenses its machine concept out while continuing production on entry-level Inissia/U models as well as Lattissima/Macapsule ranges.
Notably, all capsules sold by Organic Coffee Farm are organic. However, coffee from within this organic certification may not necessarily meet this standard due to organic certification requiring farmers to use natural pesticides that could damage soil quality and reduce coffee quality in the future. Furthermore, organic certification does not permit farmers to treat sick trees as required in an organic coffee farm environment.
